Admission Policy
Admission competition is a function of the number of applicants and their credentials. There is no set formula or prescription for admission.
However, we consider the range of different backgrounds and educational experiences of our applicants to be strengths, and therefore take an open-minded and flexible approach to our review process.
RTJ does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, or national origin and students from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Admission Requirements:
- Completion of Year 1 and 2 modules at Raffles Design Institute, Year 12 qualification or equivalent
- Design Portfolio - Approx 5-8 examples of your best, recent creative work with a brief description of each piece of work. Portfolios may be submitted in a personal interview or by post or email. If you are submitting soft copies, please ensure that the files are in PDF, JPEG, Quicktime or SWF format only.
- English level of IELTS 6.0 (Academic Module) or equivalent
Bachelor of Design
- Completion of Year 1 and 2 modules at Raffles Design Institute, Year 12 qualification or equivalent
- AND a University Admissions Index (UAI) rank of 50 or equivalent
- English level of IELTS 6.0 (Academic Module) or equivalent
Bachelor of Commerce
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
- Raffles Design Institute will work with Raffles College of Design and College in recognising qualifications issued by any other Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or registered higher education provider. To apply for RPL, please consult our Admission Officer on the procedures.
Academic Qualification of new students:
70% student with High School Certificate or equivalent; among which 35% are from Key High School, 30% with Junior College Certificate.

- Duly completed application form
- Photocopy of highest attained education qualification
- Photocopy of personal identification card
- Two 2-inch photographs and three 1-inch photographs
- First installment of tuition fee; registration fee and the fee of the English course.
